Army triathlon association sprint triathlon championships 12th June 2024.
Today we raced at the Army triathlon association sprint triathlon championships. Held at Holme pierrepoint water sports centre, it consisted of a 750m swim, 20 k bike and 5k run. 6 of us took to the start line, Andy Dunkerley Aaron James Samways, Tim Fowler Stefan Farnworth, Lucy Marchi and Kelly Ann.
Racing Against the army is always a tough day out, and the swim was fairly chaotic to start with. But we all swam well, and got out and onto the mostly flat fast bike course. Stefan was out first of the guests, after a great swim. The 4 lap 20k course went well for everyone, and onto the 5k run. Stefan was still leading the guest category, with the rest of HMPSTRI following on well.
Crossing the finish line, it appeared we had all had a good day, the end results were as follows. Male overall. Stefan, 1st, Tim 27th, Aaron, 37th, Andy 43rd Female. Lucy 12th, Kelly 14th Age group. Stefan 5th 18-29. Tim 3rd 50+, Andy 8th 40-49 Aaron 17th 40-49. Guest category. Male. 1st. Stefan 2nd . Tim 4th Aaron 5th. Andy Female. 1st. Lucy 2nd Kelly Well done all who raced and carried the HMPSTRI colours to success.
