On the 26th of April 54 Anglers attended for the interservice pairs event held at Lindholme Lakes, this event is now in its 3 rd year and demand it outstripping availability each year.
Held this year on Benny’s and loco lakes with 27 Anglers allocated to each lake. At the draw no one knew what was in store as the weather had recently changed and a big influx of fresh water from the heavens could put a dampener on the expected weights.
As for me, I drew on Benny’s and fancied my peg for a few fish, to cut a long story short I didn’t have a very productive day and had to watch a few around me catch whilst I struggled. My partner over on Loco didn’t fair too well either, so retaining the title we won last year wasn’t going to happen.
Charlie styles was located on Benny’s, and I could see and talk to him from my peg, so it wasn’t at all annoying to watch him catch all day. As the scales went round it was obvious that the lakes had not fished well, and the anticipated big weights did not materialise at all. There was the odd weight scattered amongst plenty of mediocre ones. Once all weights were collated there was a clear winner with some very close backup scores. Well done to Charlie and Keiron topping their 3 rd place from last year with the win.
