Lutterworth Golf Club
Lutterworth G.C was the venue for the H’cap Champs in April this year, the weather was awful and it rained hard all day. The flags were tucked away in some tricky spots and there was no run on the ball due to the rain we had over the last few months, making the course play longer and the scoring a bit tougher.
Again there was a great turn out with 38 players turning up from all over the country, just goes to show how popular these events are.
The scoring for this event is normally good but this year we knew if you played to your h’cap you would be in the mix. Mark Jones as always came in with a good score of 34 points, there were plenty of players behind him on 30 points just showing how tough it was out there. Then in came Steve Kay, treasurer of the golf association with an unbelievable score of 38 points, he has worked really hard on his game through winter and took the win by 4 points from Mark, with Tony Inman coming in with 31 points taking 3rd place. This is the first win for Steve in this event so well done and well deserved, obviously going part time has paid off 😊.
The prize table was again fantastic, thanks to Michael Ramsden at Lees Hall GC for his support and discounts.
Secretary, Dave Hough announced the prize winners and presented the trophy to Steve on his deserved win, he thanked Lutterworth for their hospitality, all the players for making the day possible and treasurer and this year’s winner Steve Kay who puts in a great deal of time and dedication to the Golf Association.
He finally thanked the PSSA for their contributions and support with funding as without this no golf tournaments or events would be possible.
